What is the Distance of Various Airports to the Venue Al Hamra Fort Hotel RAK?

2. What is the arrangement of transport for the participants from various airports to the venue. Also from venue to Airports after the retreat?

Participants will have to make their own arrangement to reach the venue, the Al Hamra Hotel has arrangements with private taxi operators to provide airport transfers at a cost

You can also get metered Taxi’s /Uber from the airport, fare has to be paid in cash in the local currency, Dirhams.

3. Can I bring my family during the retreat and where will they stay?

Yes you can. Please make bookings directly with the hotel

4. I would like to come for a few days prior or stay for a few days after the retreat is this possible and what is the room rate?

5. The price of the rooms is for the Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, but I would like to stay in Dubai for days prior and post the retreat, is there any other hotel?

Sorry, you will have to make arrangements on your own for a hotel in Dubai. 6. How do I get a UAE Visa?

Several UAE airlines (such as Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia) offer visa processing for a small fee, you can book your ticket on these Airlines and they will help you get a Visa. 7. What kind of clothing should I carry with me?

Casual cotton clothing is recommended. A hat and sun glasses would be essential for the outdoor activities.

For Purification by Water, please carry your swimwear* or comfortable clothes which will help you get into the water.

*Swimwear (one piece bathing suit/ shorts and T shirts etc.) Please remember that two piece swimwear/revealing clothes are not advised as we would like to respect the cultural sensitivities of the local people

8. Can I get information on the various places I can visit in Dubai?

Yes there is a travel desk at the Hotel that can help you book your tours or sight-seeing. Our newsletters will also provide details on what to see in Dubai.

9. I have booked a single room, can a friend or family member stay with me in the same room

No, single rooms are for single occupancy only. Accompanying friends and family members should book additional rooms, refer to FAQ 3 for details.

11. How do we register for the Retreat

a) If you are in the UAE the easiest way is to register at the GMCKS Pranic Energy Healing Center in Business Bay. You can pay in cash, cheque, bank transfer or credit card.

b) If you are not in the UAE and have a PayPal account, you can register on the retreat website: http://www.gmcksdubairetreat.com/site/register

Payment can be made on the website using PayPal

c) If you are not in the UAE and do not have a PayPal account, email GMCKS Pranic Energy Healing Center MCKS.Dubai.Retreat2018@gmail.com to register. You can make payment through Bank Transfer. Registration will be confirmed after receipt of payment only.

12. Things to Carry for the Retreat

The weather in UAE during the month of May has day temperature between 25°C to 35°C. The nights are cooler, around 20°C to 27°C.

We recommend you to pack a light jacket or a shawl for the evening activities as it can get quite windy in the desert.

  • Swimwear (one piece bathing suit/ shorts and T shirts etc.) Please remember that two piece swimwear/revealing clothes are not advised as we would like to respect the cultural sensitivities of the local people
  • Extra towel
  • Sunscreen lotion with high SPF
  • Cap and sunglasses
  • Comfortable Slippers or sandals for beach and desert activities
  • Arhatic Kit - Please pack the mat and the shawl - mat will be needed for the desert activities
  • extra pair of clothes as there are a number of activities in the sand.
  • Cameras
  • Objects, project and wishes for Wesak and retreat blessings

All the three days will have lot of activities like exercises, meditations, etc. Please wear loose and comfortable light coloured cotton clothes.

Salt, Hand Sanitizer, and Blue triangle will be provided

13. What is the weather like in the UAE during the month of April?

The weather in UAE during the month of April has day temperature between 25°C to 35°C. The nights are cooler, around 20°C to 30°C.

14. Meditation mats are provided or not

All attendees are advised to bring their own mediation mat and shawl. Sanitizer, Salt and Blue Triangle will be provided.

15. What time can I check in at the venue? Can I do early check in?

You can Check in time starting 2 pm, if you are arriving earlier please contact the venue directly to arrange early check in.

16. I live in the UAE can I return home each night?

No, this is a residential retreat, all attendees must stay at the venue.

17. I live in UAE, are there any transport arrangements to the Venue from different emirates?

Individuals need to make their own arrangements to get to the venue. We encourage you to contact fellow attendees and carpool. Closer to the retreat date the retreat committee will communicate about carpooling options.

18. What meals are included in the Retreat package:

Buffet Breakfast and lunch will be provided on April 28, 29, 30. Dinner will be provided only on one night. Other nights dinner is on your own - you can order food to your room or visit the nearby Mall’s food court at your own cost.

19. Exchange Rate

The local currency is UAE Dirham (AED) and one Dirham has 100 fils.

The exchange rate against the USD is fixed at:

1 USD = 3.65 AED

If you need to exchange currency there are Money Exchanges at the airport.

20. Telephone (SIM) Card for Mobile:

If you want to buy a Prepaid SIM card you can do so at the airport from the Etisalat or Du counters which are open 24 hours. A copy of entry stamp or Visa and passport will be required. You can enquire about call rates at the counter and buy sufficient recharge amount from there.

21. Can we order breakfast in the room?

All orders for food in the room will have to be settled by the individual. You will have to go to the designated restaurant to avail of complimentary breakfast and lunch.

22. If we bring our kids, is there "Child Care Facility"

No, You will have to make your own arrangements for Child Care, the hotel can assist in arranging child care.

You will have to bear all costs for child care.
